How To Get Here

Directions

From Dunoon Ferry (Car Ferry, Hunter’s Quay)

  1. Off the ferry, turn right onto the main road, that’s the A815 heading north.
  2. Keep following the A815 along the loch (you’ll have the water on your right for a bit).
  3. After around 10 minutes, watch for signs for Strachur / Glasgow, and take the left turn onto the A886.
  4. Stay on the A886 for about 15–20 minutes. You’ll go through Clachan of Strachur and past a few forestry bits.
  5. When you see signs for Tighnabruaich / Kames, turn left onto the A8003.
  6. This road’s twisty but stunning. It climbs up and gives you amazing views over the Kyles of Bute. Just take it steady; it’s single carriageway most of the way.
  7. Follow the A8003 all the way down into Tighnabruaich village. It takes about 25 minutes from the turnoff.
  8. Once you reach the village, PA21 2BD will be in that stretch, before the Kyles Medical Centre.

From: A83 (the main Inveraray–Lochgilphead road)

  1. If you’re on the A83, head to the village of Strachur.
  2. At Strachur, take the A886 turn-off, signposted for Glendaruel / Colintraive / Tighnabruaich.
  3. Stick with the A886 for about 15 miles (roughly 25 minutes). You’ll go through Glendaruel, mostly wooded countryside with a few open glens.
  4. Watch for signs to Tighnabruaich and Kames, then turn right onto the A8003.
  5. The A8003 climbs steeply at first, it’s a winding, narrow road with some cracking viewpoints over the Kyles of Bute.
  6. Keep following it for about 9 miles (20–25 minutes) until you drop down into Tighnabruaich.
  7. Once you reach the village, PA21 2BD will be in that stretch, before the Kyles Medical Centre.
